FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here are some of the questions we are asked most often. Have more for us? Reach out and we would be happy to help.

  • Yes! It is our intention to have spots available for new clients at all times. Therapist availability may vary at any given time and as we feel therapy is time sensitive, we do not maintain waitlists. We encourage you to reach out to us and follow us on social media for up-to-date therapist availability.

  • We do, yes. Our team offers a free 15 minute phone call where we share a bit about ourselves, the process, and how we would approach supporting you.

  • There is NOTHING more important than the therapeutic relationship between a client and therapist. The right fit is going to make you feel safe and comfortable and offer a space to set goals, explore thoughts and feelings and make progress towards healing.

  • Come as you are, your therapist will be eager to meet you! The purpose of the first session is to get to know one another, for your therapist to get a better understanding of your strengths and needs, and to come up with goals and intentions to guide future sessions. Some people are eager to dive in head first, other people need to ease into the process; there is no wrong way.

The technical stuff (appointment reminders, video calling, payment, etc) are made easy using The Jane App and your therapist will be able to answer any questions you have to make the initial process as simple as possible.

  • Every therapist sets their own schedule, pricing, and session format. We encourage you to review the Our Team page for the specifics of the therapist you are interested in.

We ask that if the need to cancel arises, you reach out at least 24 hours prior to your session start time. This enables us to open up spots to others with a need to get in. Any cancellations communicated with less than 24 hours notice are subject to a cancellation fee.

  • Many insurance plans do offer coverage for psychotherapy services. Reaching out to your insurance provider ahead of your first session will ensure you have accurate information about how to be reimbursed.

We do not direct bill insurance companies, however, electronic receipts will be provided upon payment for remittance.

Please note that as of June 20th, 2024 HST has been removed from psychotherapy services!

  • Dial 9-8-8 in Ontario or head to your nearest emergency room.
